This website has been created by the Cultural Service of the Consulate General of France in New Orleans. It is mostly composed of  a Web portal for a very large audience: not only for French teachers but also for people interested in France and the various French-speaking communities.

In Louisiana, beyond the teachers in French Immersion, "French as a Second Language" or traditional programs, various communities are targeted such as the Creoles, Cajuns and Native Americans. Beyond Louisiana, this website is designed for teachers in United States and elsewhere who use the educational materials available online as well as for people interested in the French language and culture in Louisiana and worldwide.

This site was also launched by the French Embassy in Washington  to offer a window of the contemporary France in various areas such as politics, economy, tourism, education, and culture.
